Climate instability is already underway. Stability PAC invests in the political leadership needed to advance stabilization research and governance.
“Stability PAC is the first and only political giving vehicle to send a clear message to current and future elected officials: governments need to lead now on stabilization research and governance.”
It's already underway. Critical Earth systems — from glaciers to clouds, sea ice to wetlands — are rapidly destabilizing, posing risks of tipping points and runaway feedback loops. These instabilities could, in turn, destabilize our economic, social, and political systems.
We urgently need to develop options to manage these risks.
Mitigation and adaptation remain urgent and necessary. But they are no longer enough. This moment requires an additional pillar of work: stabilization.
We need to accelerate research on Earth system instabilities and how to manage them effectively and safely. Stabilization isn't a replacement for existing climate efforts; it's the missing piece of a full-spectrum risk management strategy.
Advancing that research and its governance will require support from federal and state governments. It will also require a political strategy.
Dozens of federal and state leaders will be chosen this cycle, and control of Congress hangs in the balance. By investing in potential champions and building relationships across the incoming Congress, we can make stabilization part of the conversation.
This work begins in 2026 and builds a foundation for continued efforts through 2028 and beyond.

Stability PAC offers two ways to participate.
Contributions through the slate go directly to candidate campaigns. Supporting these leaders also signals that stabilization research and governance matter to donors.
Contributions to the PAC will support leaders who can move climate stabilization forward. Because a generous contributor has covered our overhead, every dollar given to Stability PAC in 2026 will go toward building the bench of pro-stabilization champions.
